Asian Games 2026 Day 9 LIVE updates: Following a seven-medal haul that included two kabaddi golds, India enters Day 9 of the 2026 Asian Games on September 27 looking to maintain their winning momentum. The spotlight falls on squash, where India targets double gold as Anahat Singh and Abhay Singh face Malaysians Sivasangari Subramaniam and Ng Eain Yow in the women’s and men’s singles finals, respectively. Additionally, shooter Manu Bhaker will seek redemption in the 25m air pistol individual and team events after missing the podium in her 10m category.

Another quarterfinal exit for India as Tanisha Crasto and Dhruv Kapila lose the deciding game 18-21 against China’s Huang Dongping and Feng Yan Zhe. The Indian pair fought back after losing the first game, but could not complete the comeback.

Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand’s Asian Games campaign comes to an end as the Indian pair lose the second game 9-21 against Malaysia’s Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan. A disappointing end for the duo, who exited the women’s doubles event in the quarterfinals.

The men's team, defending champions, defeated Bhutan 235-232 to reach the semifinals, where they will face South Korea, who beat Iran after scoring 239 points of the 240 on offer. So we are waiting for a scintillating battle which will take place on September 30.
The women's team, on the other hand, launched a come-from-behind win against Kazakhstan 233-230 to also set up a semifinal date with South Korea.

Manu Bhaker is currently in fifth place after completing three precision series in the women’s 25m pistol qualification. She has a score of 287-6x and will look to climb the standings as the qualification progresses.

Surfing: Double delight for India as Kamali, Sugar Shanti reach Round 3
India have made a strong start in the women’s shortboard event, with both Kamali Prakash and Sugar Shanti Gayen booking their spots in Round 3.
Kamali put up 7.57 (4.17 + 3.40) to finish ahead of Singapore’s Camille Marie Spaccarotella, who scored 4.50. Sugar Shanti also came through with a 7.33 (3.83 + 3.50), beating Chinese Taipei’s Chen Wan-yu, who managed 5.40.
Priyanka Goswami disqualified!
Priyanka Goswami has been disqualified from the women’s marathon race walk after receiving four red cards for technique violations. Manju Rani, meanwhile, has slipped further down the field as the race continues, leaving India’s medal hopes in the event hanging by a thread.
India script WORLD RECORD!
India's women's compound team -- Chikitha Tanipartha, Prithika Pradeep and Jyothi Surekha Vennam -- scored 238 in the pre-quarterfinals against Mongolia (223). That score is not just the Asian Games record, it is also the Asian record and the world record -- set by South Korea back in the 2014 Incheon Games.

Indian archers move ahead in men's compound!
India’s men’s compound team of Sahil Rajesh Jadhav, Kushal Dalal and Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru have advanced to the next round after beating the UAE 235-215. The Indians produced a strong performance to keep their medal campaign on track.
Manju second at the moment!
Manju Rani has completed the first 10km of the women’s marathon race walk in 48:43. She has maintained a steady pace through the opening stretch and will look to build on the strong start as the race enters its next phase.
Archery underway!
The action gets underway as India’s recurve, compound and mixed teams begin their campaigns, with the Round of 16 and quarterfinals scheduled today. India will be aiming to make strong progress across the team events.
