Image caption, Brook's previous highest score in ODIs was 136 not out, also against Sri Lanka ByStephan Shemilt Cricket Correspondent Published 4 minutes ago One-day international tri-series, Rawalpindi England 429-4 (50 overs): Brook 202, Root 69, Jacks 66* Pakistan: Yet to bat Scorecard Captain Harry Brook became the first England batter to make a double century in a one-day international with a sensational 202 against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi.

Brook's astonishing hitting took him past the previous England best of 182 made by Ben Stokes against New Zealand at The Oval in 2023.

In reaching 200 from 114 balls, Brook also broke the record for the fastest double century in an ODI, quicker than the 117 deliveries taken by India's Shubman Gill against West Indies last month.

Brook was out to the final ball of the innings having registered the 14th double hundred in a men's one-day international and the 12th highest individual score.

The skipper's assault on a helpless Sri Lanka attack lifted England to an enormous total of 429-4, the highest in a one-day international in Pakistan.
