Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday inaugurated the Delhi Pollution Control Committee’s Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) at its office in east Delhi to strengthen the city’s monitoring and response to air pollution.
The centre will enable real-time monitoring of various sources of pollution, AI-based analysis, integration of complaints and field inspection data, and coordination among departments concerned, the Chief Minister’s Office said in a statement. It stated that the system aims to translate pollution-related data into field action and measurable outcomes.
Ms. Gupta said the government’s approach to tackling air pollution is not limited to monitoring, but involves integrating technology, data and field enforcement. Through the ICCC, pollution hotspots, violations and sources of pollution can be identified quickly and the information passed on to the departments concerned for action, she said.
She said the system will follow the principle of “Detect, Analyse, Act, Verify”, identifying a problem, analysing it, taking immediate action and verifying the outcome.
“Work is being undertaken simultaneously on all major sources of pollution, including mechanical road sweeping, dust control, smog guns, mist sprays, monitoring of construction sites, expansion of green cover, clean transport and electric mobility,” Ms. Gupta said.
