According to a Reuters report, optimism surrounding China's policy support for innovation also boosted sentiment, although the country's key benchmark indexes remained on track for steep monthly declines.ADVERTISEMENT The tech-heavy STAR50 index jumped 6% by the midday break, while the CHINEXT Composite Index, which tracks startup-focused companies, climbed 4.9%.

Investor sentiment improved after China's top leadership pledged at a high-level meeting on Thursday to accelerate breakthroughs in frontier technologies and promote the development of future industries.
The commitment reinforced expectations that Beijing will continue backing strategic sectors such as artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, and high-tech innovation.
Analysts at BNP Paribas noted that although the latest leadership meeting offered few major surprises on stimulus for the struggling property sector or consumer demand, policymakers once again emphasized deepening reforms in capital market financing and investment.
