The main accused in the alleged harassment of a minor girl and her male friend in Bihar’s Jamui was shot in the leg during a police encounter, Additional Director General of Police (law and order) K.S. Anupam said on Tuesday (September 22, 2026).
The ADG (Law and Order) said that all seven accused in the incident have been arrested. On Monday (September 21, 2026), three accused were arrested. On Tuesday (September 22, 2026), the prime accused, Nandan Yadav, along with four others were arrested.

Nandan Yadav, the key accused who was also seen in the viral video, was shot in the leg and is currently admitted in a government hospital.
Mr. Anupam said that Yadav had fired on police while fleeing and was injured in leg when police retaliated the fire.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary said strict action would be taken against all those involved in the incident and that a case had been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
