Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been working on his new magnum opus called Love And War starring Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, and Alia Bhatt. This is a film that’s slated to finally arrive on the big screen in 2027. But a tragic accident recently shocked the internet when a worker lost his life due to electrocution. And the filmmaker might be in deep trouble owing to the tragedy.

Film workers demand FIR against SLB

As per reports, All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, seeking the registration of an FIR against Bhansali, Rs 1 crore in compensation for the deceased’s family, and a high-level investigation into the matter.

What does the letter to the CM read?

“The incident has raised serious concerns regarding the implementation of workplace safety measures on film shooting sets. Despite the film being a large-scale production featuring prominent actors such as Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, and Alia Bhatt, mandatory safety norms were not followed on the set, resulting in the unfortunate death of a worker. Had the required safety measures been strictly implemented and enforced, this tragic incident could possibly have been avoided.”

The man who lost his life

The report said that a carpenter was electrocuted that claimed his life who has been recognized as Chandradhari Singh Yadav. He is survived by a wife and two children.

Games

Confirming the incident, FWICE President BN Tiwari said that while Bhansali has already provided Rs 40 lakh as compensation to the family, the federation is demanding that the amount be increased to Rs 50 lakh.

FWICE has also requested that the filmmaker bear the educational expenses of Chandradhari Singh Yadav’s two children.
