MCC NEET UG counselling 2026 The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) briefly issued a notice stating that the round 1 choice filling process for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) counselling 2026 had been postponed.

However, the notice was later removed from the official website, leaving candidates uncertain about the counselling schedule.According to the now-withdrawn notice, round 1 choice filling, which was scheduled to begin on August 6, was to start instead at 12 noon on August 8.

No other changes to the counselling schedule were mentioned. The committee had said the decision was taken following a notification issued by the National Medical Commission (NMC) regarding Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates. The removed notice stated that the change was made in view of an NMC letter dated August 5, 2026, related to the assessment guidelines for PwBD candidates seeking admission to the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) course.

The addendum revised certain provisions of the guidelines issued earlier on July 27 to align them with a memorandum issued by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

As of now, the MCC has removed the postponement notice from its website and has not issued any fresh clarification.

Candidates are advised to keep checking the official MCC website for the latest updates on the counselling process. What is NEET UG choice filling?

During the choice filling process, eligible candidates select and arrange their preferred medical and dental colleges and courses in order of preference.

The seat allotment is prepared based on factors such as NEET UG rank, reservation category, seat availability and the choices submitted by candidates.

Applicants can edit and lock their preferences before the choice filling deadline.
