According to police, Farhanaz, a Pakistani citizen, and her son Mohammed Fardeen Khan were living in Dasaragere village, Bagepalli taluk. A case has been registered against them for allegedly overstaying their visas and remaining in the country without valid authorisation.
Investigators said Farhanaz had married Ayub Khan, a resident of Dasaragere village. The couple has two children, and one of them, Mohammed Fardeen Khan, has also been taken into custody as part of the investigation.
Preliminary inquiries indicate that both Farhanaz and her son are Pakistani citizens. The police are also verifying allegations that they possessed Indian identity documents, including a ration card, Aadhaar card, voter identity card, and bank accounts, despite not being Indian citizens. The authenticity of these documents is under investigation.
The police said Ayub Khan is currently employed as a bus driver in the Gulf, while Farhanaz and their children had been residing in the village.
Officials stated that although their visas had expired, they had not returned to Pakistan. Based on a complaint regarding their alleged illegal stay, the police initiated an investigation and subsequently detained the mother and son.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are verifying the immigration status and related documents of the accused.
