Broader markets, meanwhile, moved into the green, with Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 indices rising up to 0.3%.Eternal, Sun Pharma, Titan, Adani Ports and Tata Steel shares dropped around 2% each, while those of HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finance, Infosys, Bharti Airtel, Trent, Bajaj Finserv and NTPC shares fell around 1% each.

Bucking the trend, Kotak Mahindra Bank shares gained around 3% while ICICI Bank and IndiGo shares rose over 2% each.

The market breadth continued to favour the bears, with NSE seeing 1,813 declines against 1,740 advances, while 132 stocks remained unchanged.
