Sports will ensure discipline, punctuality, and confidence among youngsters, helping them excel in academics and their chosen careers, said former BCCI selection committee chairman M.S.K. Prasad. He was speaking at the AITAM College inter-sports meet, organised as part of its silver jubilee celebrations, near Tekkali in the Srikakulam district on Saturday (July 11, 2026).
Attending as the chief guest for the valedictory of the sports meet, he noted that such competitions would help sports authorities identify the right individuals for national and international games, while referring to Srikakulam’s contribution to sports.
AITAM College Director V.V. Nageswara Rao stated that the college encourages youngsters to attend national sports meets held in New Delhi, Chandigarh, and other locations. Along with Mr. Prasad, he presented medals and certificates to the winners of various sports events. The college chairman, K. Someswara Rao, Principal A.S. Srinivasa Rao, and others also felicitated Mr. Prasad and lauded his contribution to Andhra cricket over the last three decades.
