Justice K. Sujana of the Telangana High Court on Friday directed the Petbasheerabad police to serve copies of the statements of the victim recorded in the POCSO Act case registered against Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay’s son Bageerath to the counsel of the victim.
The judge was hearing contentions in a criminal petition filed by Bageerath seeking regular bail in the POCSO Act case. Advocate Pappu Nageshwara Rao, appearing for the victim’s mother based on whose complaint the First Information Report was issued against Bageerath, got impleaded in the criminal petition.
Opposing the petition for regular bail, the advocate requested the bench to direct the investigating officer to supply copies of the statements of the victim in the case. The Public Prosecutor for Home Palle Nageshwar Rao sought time to file counter affidavit in the matter.
The hearing was adjourned to Monday for next hearing.
