Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president Manickam Tagore, along with former TNCC presidents K.S. Alagiri, former MP Su. Thirunavukarasar, Peter Alphonse, Mayiladuthurai MP, R. Sudha, K.V. Thangkabalu, organised a protest in Egmore on Wednesday against Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is arrived in Tamil Nadu to chair the meeting of Southern Zonal Council.

TNCC president Mr. Tagore said that Home Minister Amit Shah is responsible for the police action against the protesting students in New Delhi recently.

“The Home Minister shouldn't feel that he had a peaceful visit to Tamil Nadu. We have to show our opposition to him. We are only opposing him and his policies. We are not opposing the Chief Ministers of other States,” he said.

The protest held by the Congress State unit and the cadre was against the Delimitation which the party has opposed and against the paper leaks.

He said, “Amit Shah didn't answer questions raised in the parliament. He doesn't act in a democratic manner. He should listen to voices of the people.”
