CBSE relaxes three language policy for Class 7, 8, 9; allows two foreign language options
The current batches of Classes 7, 8, and 9 who have already taken two foreign languages would continue with the same, with one additional native Indian language (Bhartiya Bhasha), revised guidelines issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) said. In a circular issued in May, CBSE had stated that students in Class 9 too will have to adopt the three-language policy where two of the three languages they learn should be native to India. Following this, parents of students who were learning foreign languages like French, German, Japanese, Spanish and so on, who were asked to switch mid-session, had protested at the abrupt switch.
Nasrapur minor rape and murder case: Court awards death penalty to 65-year-old accused
A Special Court in Pune district has sentenced Bhimrao Prabhakar Kamble, 65, to death for the rape and murder of a three-and-a-half-year-old girl in Nasrapur village of Bhor taluka. Special Judge S.R. Salunke pronounced the sentence on Monday (June 29, 2026), days after finding Kamble guilty on June 25. The incident occurred on May 1, 2026, in Nasrapur. The court convicted Kamble under multiple provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Ram temple donations case: All eight accused sent to 14 days judicial custody
All eight accused arrested in connection with the alleged embezzlement of donations at the Ram temple were on Monday (June 29, 2026) remanded to 14 days’ judicial custody by a local court, case officials said. Ayodhya lawyers refuse to represent Ram Temple embezzlement accused

Delhi government clears EV policy: Electric cars under ₹30 lakh to be exempt from road tax, registration fees
All electric cars with an ex-showroom price of ₹30 lakh or less registered in the national capital will be granted 100% exemption on road tax and registration fees, as the Delhi government approved a new EV policy on Monday (June 29, 2026). Under the new policy, people buying e-two-wheelers will get a subsidy of ₹30,000 in the first year, ₹20,000 in the second year and ₹10,000 in the third year.
