About 115 candidates were handed over offer of appointments in various organisations such as Customs, CGST, Railways, Department of Posts, National Institute of Technology - Tiruchi, and banks during the Rozgar Mela organised by the Tiruchi Customs Preventive Zone here on Saturday.
Raj Bhushan Choudhary, Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti, handed over the offer letters during the mela. Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the event virtually, a press release from the Customs Commissionerate said.
Mr. Choudhary said the event reflected the Centre’s commitment to empower youth and facilitate meaningful employment. Appreciating the water management practices in the region, he said the NIT-Tiruchi had worked on an innovative technology aimed at conserving water in irrigation. The technology had the potential to save approximately 40% of water that would otherwise be wasted under traditional irrigation methods, he said.
P.V.N. Suresh Babu, Chief Commissioner, Bharat Prakash, Commissioner of Customs, Tiruchi, G.Aghila, Director NIT-Tiruchi, and others participated, the release added.
