Missile alert sirens sounded at dawn Monday in Bahrain, home to the US Navy's 5th Fleet, though there was no immediate word of damage, while Iranian state media confirmed fresh attacks on Iranian soil early Monday, reporting explosions in several locations and at least one death.

Sunday's Iranian strikes had already reached Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan and Oman whose waters along the strait make the narrow Gulf passage, once carrying a fifth of the world's oil and gas trade, the central flashpoint threatening the interim US-Iran deal.
