Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, he revealed that he had taken a long sabbatical after years of work, but his children were unhappy with his decision as his popularity remained strong despite his absence from the spotlight.
They urged him to return to social media and make himself more visible, while he maintained that he preferred not to engage in “fake” promotion and would only appear when he had projects.
He further shared that his children’s emotional push, along with reconnecting with industry friends like Firoz A.
Nadiadwallah and Anees Bazmee, motivated his comeback, adding that life for him has been like a game of snakes and ladders where setbacks are inevitable but comebacks always follow.
