A witness in a rape case against former MP Prajwal Revanna has alleged that she was threatened by those supporting the accused, outside the court.

The Special Court of Sessions for criminal cases against former, present MPs and MLAs, trying the case, has now asked the Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by Additional Director-General of Police B.K. Singh, to investigate the matter and submit a report to the court.

The witness is a social worker, who helped the first-ever alleged victim to come forward and lodge a complaint against the former MP. The victim was a former househelp at the Revanna family’s Holenarsipur house. This was the first case registered, based on which the SIT was formed.

Sources said the witness told the court on August 20, that supporters of the accused had made threatening calls to her after her previous deposition. She told the court that the persons of the accused should be held responsible if anything untoward to happen to her or her son.

The sources said that the identity of those who allegedly issued threats is yet to be established and the investigation would cover this aspect.

Prajwal Revanna has recently been in the eye of the storm after sleuths from the Central Crime Branch (CCB), Bengaluru City Police, caught him while allegedly using a mobile phone and in possession of a pen drive at the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison.
