As BRICS chair, India focused on four pillars: resilience, innovation, cooperation, and sustainability, PM Modi said today during his address on the second day of the BRICS Summit 2026, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

“Weaponisation of critical minerals can create hurdles for common growth,” PM Modi said.

Mr. Modi added that the Global South’s confidence in BRICS has increased, adding that rising tensions in the world are having a significant negative impact on the lives of ordinary people.

Mr. Modi said that the consensus reached at BRICS is an Early Warning System for prevention and response to infectious diseases.

He also said that for disaster management, early warning data integration guidelines were formulated.

He also said that the BRICS logistics supply chain cooperation framework will help make the participating nations’ supply chains more reliable and resilient.

He also said that the BRICS network on digital agriculture will create new opportunities for farmers.
