Chief Minister, C. Joseph Vijay, was making defamatory statements like he had been delivering dialogues given to him for cinema shooting, said Tirumangalam MLA, M. Manimaran.
Addressing a protest demonstration organised by the DMK here on Wednesday, the party rural district secretary, Mr. Manimaran said that Mr. Vijay was making wild allegations without any evidence.
“His baseless speeches and the TVK Government will not last long. The DMK will come back to power in January 2027,” the MLA said.
Even while claiming that he had with him three secret files against the DMK leaders, the Chief Minister only pointed to Sarkariya Commission report in the Assembly and made derogatory remarks against the DMK president, M.K. Stalin, with regard to his detention under MISA.
“DMK cadres had undergone torture during the MISA and no other party has any right to talk about it,” he said.
Party urban district secretary, K. Thalapathi, joined scores of party cadres in raising slogans against Mr. Vijay during the protest.
Former Ministers, P. Moorthi, and Palanivel Thiagarajan, were conspicuous by their absence at the State-wide protest held in Madurai.
