India is set to become the default global destination for Research and Development (R&D) services and advanced technology solutions, Kris Gopalakrishnan, Co-Founder, Infosys, said in Coimbatore on Tuesday (August 25, 2026).
Describing education, research, innovation and incubation as the four pillars of a future-ready institution, Mr. Gopalakrishnan who is also Chairman, Axilor Ventures; and Trustee, Pratiksha Trust & Pratithi Investment Trust, called upon graduating engineers to contribute to India’s transition towards a product-driven and developed economy.
Delivering the Foundation Day address, on ‘Building Tomorrow’, Mr. Gopalakrishnan also unveiled the Platinum Jubilee Souvenir. He handed over the first copy to G. R. Karthikeyan, Founder Trustee & Chairman, PSG & Sons’ Charities, and commended the institution’s role in strengthening Coimbatore’s industrial ecosystem.
Presiding over, L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee, PSG & Sons’ Charities, recalled the academic vision of Founder-Principal of PSG College of Technology, Prof. G. R. Damodaran (GRD), and advocated interdisciplinary research and industry collaboration.
