Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath Gupta urged the police constables who have passed out after training to discharge their duties responsibly and with a spirit of service, upholding the public’s trust in the police department.
Mr. Bharath was the chief guest at the passing-out-parade of a total of 629 Andhra Pradesh Special Police (APSP) trainee constables, comprising 430 trainees from the Kurnool APSP 2nd Battalion and 199 trainees from the Kurnool District Police Training Centre (DTC). Speaking after receiving the guard of honour, Mr. Bharath emphasised that the word police should instil fear of law among anti-social and rowdy elements, while simultaneously ensure the protection of ordinary citizens.
Highlighting the rapid evolution of technology in modern times, he advised them to make effective use government-provided tools such as artificial intelligence (AI), CCTV networks, and vehicle movement analysis systems. He emphasised the need to continuously enhance professional skills through innovative ideas.
The Minister remarked that the sacrifice of parents who dedicated their children to the service of the nation was invaluable and expressed the hope that the recruits would uphold their parents’ aspirations and bring a good name to both the department and their families.
He said the government was committed to the welfare of unemployed youth and was formulating plans to conduct regular police recruitment and create new job opportunities.
Speaking on the occasion, Deepika Patil, IPS, Commandant of the APSP 2nd Battalion, said that as part of the nine-month training programme, the trainees were provided comprehensive training in various aspects essential for modern policing. Certificates of appreciation and awards were also presented to the best drill instructors during the event.

Kurnool Range DIG Koya Praveen and other police officials, training staff, and family members of the trainee constables were also present.
Meanwhile, in Anantapur, Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav participated in the passing-out-parade of 582 personnel trained at the PTC and 101 trained at the DTC. Mr. Keshav said that police personnel performing duties on the streets are true representatives of the government, and the credibility of the security system and government’s reputation hinge on their conduct and performance.
The Minister noted that, while many professions in society have fixed schedules and working hours, the police profession entails a responsibility that operates round-the-clock, irrespective of time.
The Minister stated that the nature of crime was evolving with the times. Noting that cybercrime spreads faster than traditional forms of crime, he emphasised the need to stay one step ahead of criminals and continuously learn modern technology to curb it. He also stressed the importance of being constantly updated on technology and law, and called for the adoption of scientific methods in criminal investigations.
District Collector O. Anand congratulated the police personnel who were entering active duty and urged them to perform their duties responsibly.
