Ganesh, a head constable, and Prakash A.K., a constable, both attached to the East Traffic Police Station in the city, have been transferred to Agumbe Police Station in Tirthahalli taluk and Anavatti Police Station in Sorab taluk, respectively. The SP issued the transfer orders on Tuesday based on a report from the Traffic Inspector in the city.
In the video clip, the two constables were seen carrying the MLA on their shoulders during the procession, ahead of the immersion of the idol installed at the Shivamogga East Traffic office two days earlier. The clip attracted a large number of comments demanding action against the staff members.
However, the transfer order did not cite any specific reason, stating only that it was issued for “administrative purposes.” The constables have been asked to report to their respective stations immediately.
