SRM Institute of Science and Technology, in association with The Hindu, will organise a webinar on ‘The Future Doctor: Balancing Clinical Experience with Technology’ as part of the Future Career Conversations series on Saturday (August 29, 2026).

The session will explore how the medical profession is evolving with the rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence, robotics, and digital health, and how future doctors can adapt to these advancements while continuing to uphold clinical excellence and patient-centred care. The discussion will examine how medical professionals can effectively leverage tools such as AI-assisted diagnostics to treatment planning, telemedicine, and digital consultations, while addressing the ethical challenges associated with technology-driven healthcare.

The panel will also deliberate on the evolving debate between specialisation and general practice, as well as the need for reforms in medical education while offering insights into the skills, adaptability, and multi-disciplinary approach required to succeed in the medicine of tomorrow.

The panel will consist of R. Jayanthi, Dean, SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre; Vivek Narayanan, Dean (Dental), SRM Kattankulathur Dental College and Hospital; Ritubhan Gautam, Head – Global Health, Deep Tek.ai, and K. Ganapathy, Honorary Distinguished Professor, IIM Jammu, Distinguished Professor, Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, and Emeritus Professor, National Academy of Medical Sciences.
