A Ukrainian strike killed a man in the Russian border region of Belgorod, authorities said on Wednesday (June 24, 2026).

Russia’s Defence Ministry said the country’s forces had destroyed more than 300 drones from Ukraine overnight, with the warring neighbours having stepped up strikes in recent weeks.

A woman who sustained a shrapnel wound to the back was taken to hospital, it added.

“During the past night, air defence duty assets intercepted and destroyed 323 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles across Russia,” the country’s Defence Ministry wrote on the state-run Max platform.
