WPL 2027 Auction Live Updates: The battle for the final spots in the Women's Premier League gets underway today, with 150 players set to go under the hammer at the WPL Auction 2027. The five franchises have 27 slots to fill, with Indian wicketkeeper-batter G Kamalini, all-rounder Sneh Rana, Australia's Sophie Molineux and Grace Harris, and England's Sophia Dunkley among the names expected to draw interest. Mumbai's 16-year-old batter Ira Jadhav, who smashed 346 off 157 balls in the Women's Under-19 One-Day tournament last year, could also attract strong bids. UP Warriorz enter the auction with the biggest purse of ₹3.75 crore, while defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru will look to add depth to their squad as they target a third title. Follow our WPL Auction 2027 live blog for the latest bidding updates, player signings and team-wise squad details.
Disha Kasat joins MI!
Purvaja Verlekar, Vrinda Dinesh and Gautami Nayak all go unsold. Disha Kasat, however, ends the drought as Mumbai Indians raise the paddle to sign her for INR 10 lakh.
Asha Shobhana remains unsold!
Asha Shobhana and South Africa’s Nonkululeko Mlaba also fail to attract any bids and remain unsold.
Saika Ishaque unsold!
Priya Mishra kicks off the spin-bowling category in the capped players’ list but fails to attract a bid at her base price of INR 30 lakh. Saika Ishaque, who has previously represented Mumbai Indians, also goes unsold after finding no takers.
Titas Sadhu remains unsold!
Titas Sadhu also remains unsold in the fast bowlers' category.
The unsold list goes on…
Australia’s Tayla Vlaeminck also fails to attract any bids and remains unsold. Sri Lankan bowler Mithali Ayodhya goes without a buyer as well, while New Zealand’s Rosemary Mair suffers the same fate, with no bids coming her way.
More unsold players in the list!
Taniyaa Bhatia and Nuzhat Parween fail to attract any bids and remain unsold. 30-year-old Saima Thakor suffers the same fate.
Sushma joins UP Warriorz!
Uma Chetry goes under the hammer next but fails to attract a bid and remains unsold for now. Sushma Verma is up next, and UP Warriorz raise the paddle to sign her for INR 30 lakh.
Six Players Unsold!
Six players have been sold so far at the WPL 2027 auction, with franchises spending a combined ₹3.15 crore. UP Warriorz have been the busiest, signing Sophie Molineux for ₹1.10 crore, Grace Harris for ₹30 lakh and Sneh Rana for ₹30 lakh. Delhi Capitals secured Kiran Navgire for ₹75 lakh, while Gujarat Giants picked up G. Kamalini and Orla Prendergast. Five players have gone unsold, with RCB and Mumbai Indians yet to open their accounts.
Kamalini joins GG, UP Warriorz set sight on Aussie firepower
G Kamalini was touted to be the highest-paid Indian on the day but that doesn't seem to be the case. She was acquired by GG for ₹40 lakh. In fact, Kiran Navgire goes for a pretty solid bid of ₹75 lakh to DC... Shafali Verma and Navgire opening together? Interesting thought. Sophie Molineux has gotten the best deal so far with ₹1.10 Cr. The current Australian captain joins former Australian captain Meg Lanning at UP Warriors. Molineux, Lanning, Phoebe Litchfield and Grace Harris ( a steal at ₹30 lakh) -- quite the Australian reunion there. Not sure yet if Harris pips Sophie Eccelstone in the pecking order, but Abhishek Nayar might be tempted to go with a total Australian overseas quartet.
UP Warriorz sign Grace Harris
Grace Harris joins UP Warriorz for just INR 30 lakh. Could this turn out to be one of the steals of the auction?
Sneh Rana joins UP Warriorz!
Orla Prendergast joins Gujarat Giants for INR 30 lakh, while Chamari Athapaththu goes unsold. Sneh Rana is next to find a buyer, with UP Warriorz signing her for INR 30 lakh.
Sophie Molineux gets big deal!
Sophie Molineux sparks an immediate bidding war between UP Warriorz and RCB, with the price crossing the INR 1 crore mark. UP Warriorz eventually win the race, signing her for INR 1.10 crore.
Gujarat sign Kamalini!
G Kamalini attracts a lone bid from Gujarat Giants, who sign the youngster for INR 40 lakh.
Navgire joins DC for INR 75 Lakh!
Ayushi Soni also goes unsold! Kiran Navgire is up next and becomes the first player to be sold, with Mumbai Indians opening the bidding before Delhi Capitals join the race. A bidding war ensues, with Delhi Capitals eventually securing Navgire for INR 75 lakh.
Dunkley fails to attract any bids!
Tejal Hasabnis also goes unsold for now! Sophia Dunkley, one of the anticipated big names at the auction, also fails to attract any bids.
Raghvi Bisht unsold!
Raghvi Bisht to go under the hammer as the first player in today's auction, but she fails to find any interest from the franchise and goes unsold.
Auction begins!
Mallika Sagar takes centre stage as the auctioneer for the day, with the auction set to begin with the capped players.
Wicketkeeper set to be in high demand!
Wicket-keepers are expected to be key attractions in the auction but the team that needs one most is Delhi Capitals. Lizelle Lee managed to do justice to both the opener and wicket-keeper spots last season. With her withdrawal from this season due to personal reasons, the four-time finalists will be hoping to add some X factor.
RCB, DC and GG look to fill fewer slots
Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Giants, who all made it to the WPL 2026 playoffs, retained most of their core players ahead of the new season. As a result, the three franchises have fewer slots to fill at today's auction as they look to make targeted additions to their squads.
Most Players in INR 10 lakh bracket!

The ₹10 lakh bracket dominates the WPL 2027 auction pool, accounting for 109 of the 150 players (72.7%). Another 31 players have registered at ₹30 lakh (20.7%), while four each are listed at ₹20 lakh and ₹40 lakh. Only two players carry the highest base price of ₹50 lakh. With 27 vacancies across five franchises, the lower-price bracket offers the largest pool of options.
Dunkley, Harris among top names
England batter Sophia Dunkley and Australian all-rounder Grace Harris are among the big names to watch out for at the WPL Auction 2027. Both will be among the players attracting interest as the five franchises look to strengthen their squads ahead of the new season.
All-rounders dominate auction pool!

All-rounders dominate the WPL 2027 auction pool, with 76 of the 150 registered players (50.7%) belonging to the category. Bowlers form the second-largest group with 38 players (25.3%), followed by 24 specialist batters (16%) and 12 wicketkeepers (8%). The figures include the four late additions to the auction list, with Medhavi Bidhuri and Samaira Raghav classified as all-rounders. With only 27 squad vacancies available across five franchises, competition for contracts will be intense. - Update from Probuddha Bhattacharjee -
Mumbai Indians to enter with smallest purse
Mumbai Indians head into the WPL Auction 2027 with ₹90 lakh remaining, the smallest purse among the five franchises. Their spending options will be limited as they look to fill their vacant slots ahead of the new season.
122 Indian Players in Auction List!

Indian cricketers account for 122 of the 150 players (81.3%) in the WPL 2027 auction pool, with 28 overseas players representing nine countries. Australia leads the overseas contingent with 11 players, followed by South Africa and Scotland with four each. England, Sri Lanka and New Zealand have two representatives apiece, while Ireland, the Netherlands and the UAE have one each. The updated list includes four late additions ahead of the auction in Kochi.
UP Warriorz enter with biggest purse!
UP Warriorz have the biggest purse among the five teams heading into the WPL Auction 2027, with ₹3.75 crore available to spend. They will look to make the most of their budget as they aim to fill their remaining slots.
