The Indian duo of Kamaljeet and Suruchi Singh struck gold in the mixed team 10m air pistol final at the Asian Games on Friday (September 25, 2026), bouncing back from their individual disappointments to deliver another shooting title for India. The pair had topped qualification with a strong 587, including 29 inner 10s, before producing a winning performance in the final to claim the gold medal.
Meanwhile, APS Tomar, India’s Rudrankksh Patil and Niraj Kumar will feature in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions individual and team events.
Seram Nirupama Devi will be in contention for a medal in the women’s 64kg weightlifting event.
India made a strong beginning to its athletics campaign at the Asian Games 2026 yesterday, securing two medals. The mixed 4x400m relay team bagged silver, while Seema Kumari clinched bronze in the women’s 10,000m, earning India’s first athletics medal of the Games.
India have secured 18 medals at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games so far, comprising two gold, eight silver and nine bronze.
